I’m such a nerd for reading statistics. I have been loving all of your Goodreads stats for the year too so keep posting them and leave me a comment so I can check out yours! If you’re interested, you can check out my stats from 2017 too.
Goodreads does a fantastic job of keeping track of your reading statistics throughout the year. Now if you’re really into diving deep into the numbers, I definitely recommend checking out Kaleena’s spreadsheet from Reader Voracious. It’s much more in depth and has tabs that will be helpful for bloggers too.
None of the numbers surprised me other than my average rating of 3.6 stars. I had thought that I usually lean on the higher side for my star ratings but this number makes me think otherwise! Other than that, I was really happy with what I read in 2018.
I’ll go ahead and let these images speak for themselves!

While I’m really disappointed in myself for not reaching my reading goal this year, I know that it was probably a reach based on what was happening in our lives this year. I have higher hopes for myself in 2019 and I’m excited to get going!
Have you posted your Goodreads Stats 2018? Let me know!

I’m scared to look at my stats hahahaha!!! but true, it is a good way to put 2018 in perspective and use it to have a better 2019 😀 I think I will be sharing mine too, if I don’t chicken out! 😛
Do it!! I use it to keep myself accountable more than anything but I am also such a nerd for statistics and just find it interesting haha!
I didn’t realize Goodreads has stats like that! I’ll have to check it out. I did however reach my goal of 25 books. I’m happy with it but I’m definitely going to up my goal this year!
It’s a little hidden but definitely fun to look at!
My average rating was also 3.6, which surprised me as I thought it would have been lower (I rated a good number 2 stars ahahaha). Great job even though you missed your goal, and happy reading in 2019!
Here’s hoping we’ll be able to read some higher rated books this year lol!
Kaleena’s spreadsheets are AWESOME!!! I am always in awe of the work she does for stat recording and book blogging organizing. Like you, I was slightly disappointed by my year of reading or not reading. Goodreads is a great reminder for that. I fear as a book blogger, and blogger in general, I now actually have less time to read. Blasphemy, I know! I’m afraid to make my 2019 goal because I don’t want it to be any worse lol.
Haha I know! I kept my goal the same for 2019 in the hope that I’ll knock it out of the park this time!
I didn’t make my Goodreads 2018 goal, either! My goal was 50, and I hit 48. I actually was pushing through on Dec 31 to finish what I thought was book #49, but I took a look at my 2018-read books, and I realized Goodreads counted one of my DNF books in the “read” category (for the life of me, I cannot get it to change). Once I saw that, I was like, whelp, I’m definitely not finishingTWO books in the next five hours, so oh well! 48 it is. LOL.
Ahhhhh so close!!!
I keep seeing this awesome Goodreads summary on bloggers’ posts but can’t find it on my account! Can you share how you got to that page?
Sure! Go to your own profile and it should be on the right hand side under your 2019 Reading Challenge. It’s called Year In Books! Let me know if that doesn’t make sense!
Oh that was easy haha thanks! I kept looking for it in my 2018 Challenge page. Hooray!
Haha no problem! I just happened to stumble on it!
